thanks Deb..i painted hydrangeas for the first time for a show last fall, they were tough! ended up using a q-tip to lift out and suggest the petals, will try and post my results soon. Nice work, love the giraffe.

Hello Debra Nice! Portraits are hard to do, but you''ve done a marvellous job! I paint, too (mainly landscapes and florals) but I have been struggling for years and recently decided to go back to work (a real day-time job). When the galleries are selling junk at high prices and reasonable artwork is overlooked, there is something wrong! I am on the verge of giving up on art! I sense that people would rather buy modern looking art that looks like they were slapped together by an elephant at the local zoo rather than the traditional paintings. And if that''s not the worst of it, the Chinese have started copying us and selling paintings for as low as $5 per canvas! Since yours is very traditional looking, I am wondering how you are making out?
