Kristen Evans was born in 1970, and is both self taught and schooled, beginning as an oil painter before moving into her current style, using a combination of acrylic and watercolor crayon and oil pastels. Influenced by the Expressionist painters, and also by Edward Hopper, Jackson Pollack, Kurt Seligman, and others, she credits the strong forms of her urban environment for additional inspiration.
