I paint luminous oil paintings of the Western landscape. I am also an art historian and 19th Century landscapes are my passion, particularly the American Luminists. My work alternates between traditional representational landscapes and increasingly abstracted and dreamy work that is informed by my own inner vision.

Adapting the style and colours of the school of the American Luminists, you have rendered a beautiful warm atmosphere amidst the ochre, sienna, and sap green shadings, particularly in your two beautiful paintings, "Remains of the Day". The staggered line of the wagon tracks through the fields leads the eye unconsciously across your canvas. Well done. Thanks for sharing. - Allan
