I come from the sign painting industry and was fortunate to find several mentors who generously helped me to become a "fine artist". I've been doing this now for over 20 years and teaching art for 10 or 12. I find that I'm one of those who simply need to express, and my passions run in some unusual directions, or so I'm led to believe.
