About Me

I can't "release it" if it's not right. I can let some parts of a painting remain “mooshed” and completely obsess over a strand of hair in another part. I can think I am done, sign it and walk away from it. That sounds simple enough, doesn't it? It's not, because the painting (or so it seems) will call me back to the easel, relentlessly at times. Time and time again. You might think I could choose to ignore it. The fact is, I can’t. It's the very thing that keeps me awake at night and what ma... more

Sandy, I was initially drawn to your charming animal portraits! Of course I then began reading your titles and commentary on each painting and became more enchanted as their personalities emerged, particularly "Bless Her Little Heart" (we don''t appreciate chickens enough nowadays)and so many more. Lastly, I began to browse through your landscapes and found your titles invited further reading, which brought back delightfully precious memories of soft sinking sand oozing between my toes, the sense of losing oneself while watching birds or clouds, etc. Thank you for such a delightful visit!! I''m most anxious to see more! Jeanne

Sandy, First, let me say your paintings are beautiful - in my opinion, you ARE "there". Secondly, I loved your bio - I can so relate to being kept awake at night by a painting on the easel that needs ''something''... keep up the beautiful work!

Sounds like you have a bit of perfectionism like I do! Some paintings just won''t let you go! I love your paintings, thier titles, and how each has a story. I do the same thing and it''s a joy to bring life to an otherwise 2D object. Great work, and keep it up! I adore your kitty by the way! :D

Beautiful work Sandy. Your keen eye for shadings and tonality have rendered ordinary images into things of beauty. "Daisy and May" sings of light and breeze. I appreciate the stories you tell to explain your feelings behind the painting. Thanks for sharing. Allan
