About Me
Karen Sloan was born in Toronto, Canada, but currently resides in the Haliburton area of Ontario, just south of Algonquin Park. Having been a professional floral designer and horticulturalist for 15 years in Toronto, Karen’s style and subject matter is still heavily influenced by this. Leaving the city behind for life in a rural setting has given Karen the ability to paint full time in her studio, while teaching classes for both children and adults at the local galleries and schools.
