About Me

I've lived in Sedona, AZ for the past 12 years, and in Taos, NM for the previous 15 years. I love traveling and painting wherever I go, from NYC to Big Sur. I like to paint large scale landscapes more than anything else. My main emphasis is capturing the light and color of the landscape. Although hard to see in small images of large paintings; I use palette knives and 1"-2" brushes to create an abstract application technique. The following is a list of highlights from my bio sheet............. more

Terrific work! Your Canyon de Chelly painting is exceptional.

I have been following your work for many years. You are one of the few artists who understands the anatomy of the landscape you paint and render the luscious color of the land.

Kathy Lumsden - 8/27/2008 5:24:00 PM

I love your exceptional use of light and color in your landscapes.

Esther J. Williams - 8/28/2008 8:41:00 PM

William, I have met you at the Montage Resort at the 2006 Laguna Plein Air Invitational. Roger Coe and I were talking to you about your ability to capture the true and natural colors of the landscape. I want to add that you also capture atmosphere in it''s true state of infinite arrangements of values and hues.

Hi William, Dyanamic, engaging work! We live in a landscape worthy of such focus...I live in Arizona as well, and am also enamored by the richness and space around me...albeit for now, the vistas at night! Please check out my work...Thanks for the view into your wonderful paintings. Best, Catherine in Tucson

I do love your majestic landscapes some of which remind me of Albert Bierstadt. Fantastic work!

Sycamores along the creek: Breathtakingly beautiful!

Had a workshop with you some years ago and have always admired your work.

Terry Rafferty - 9/27/2008 12:08:00 AM

These are beautiful, even seen in miniature. Seeing them in reality must be like standing on site, dwarfed by the grandeur. Wow. There''s a connection is to Bierstadt''s work, but you''ve made these scenic wonders your own.

William, This small painting "Along the Sycamore Creek" has no less greatness in comparison to the monumental works. wonderful! Alex

Somewhere between Turner and Maxfield Parish but with your own rugged individualism. The feel of last light on mountains is all there. Come to Cape Town. See the Cedarberg.

You have to know the southwest to know an artist that actually captures the uniqueness of the light and colors. You certainly do. Enjoyable!
