Not a one theme fixated artist. I really appreciate the diversity of subjects you have explored. Your "Strange Lady"''s are both engagingly mysterious. (Oddly enough, the second reminds me strongly of the Canadian author, Margaret Atwood.) You are drawing on your experiences in China to create imaginative settings, both in "Street Artists" and "Barbershop". In such a crowded culture, it is interesting that you set your street barber in a fantastical wooded countryside. That your paintings reveal a storyteller behind the canvas is part of the charm of your work. Thanks for sharing. - Allan

Thank you for your thoughtful words. It is true that I dont stick into one theme. I always paint human figures. I love painting subjects that is unusual and detached. The strange lady are my favorite watercolor paintings, I’m surprised that it looks like Margaret Atwood?. I didn’t think abt her when I painted it. I love unusual beauty in her face. The Chinese people series(barbershop, street artists, card players) are paintings I made while I’m in Beijing. I’ve been here for 3 years and been trying to understand more about china and the people. I gave the background in strange atmosphere, like in a forest to make it looks like performance in the street. A little bit loneliness is wht I feel when I painted it. Street artists expresses my concern to the street performers in China who’s doing art just for pleasure and not for anything else. I relate my passion in art with those people and the problems surround me. would love to learn more from u all

Winnie, Beautiful painting- "Strange Lady" I enjoy the ethereal quality of the light, what a haunting gaze on the models face. I then realized it was done in watercolor-WOW! Very nice job. -Bryce
